I was detecting with a friend last Sunday, and was getting the usual nails, spikes and heavy metals. We were detecting in a dry creek with a exposed bedrock. Although we didn't find any nuggets, I am going to go back and take material from those areas in a bucket to see what kind of gold I will find. I know it will be to small to detect but something tells me like dredging when you are finding the heavies the gold is is not far away. Any one use this method?

Try this method... get down on the dry, exposed bedrock. Sweep the bedrock with with a wisk broom into a plastic bag. Check out what you got. many of todays prospectors don't try this. May tell you that you have found a productive spot! TTC
