My wife and I had another fun hunt on the tater field again today. We found a little trash but she ended up with the old key. ( not sure what it went to) I ended up with a find on the way back to the truck. A toasty but readable date on the 1904 v nickel. It's always fun to be out swinging a coil. Not sure if you can see it but there's a small A on the end of the key between the notches on the end

Cool that you found both pieces of the key. Same hole? It's too bad v nickels can get so beat up.

I agree with PeteW, the top part looks like a clock key but the bottom part is a skeleton key. Nice digs!

Nice finds. However i think they could go together since the bottom parts shank is tapered down to the same size as the top and all the skeleton keys ive ever found or even seen has been solid with the end past the tooth being round never hollow.
