Hello Forum,

I was walking on a trail in the woods, and I found my first V Nickel! It came out of the ground sort of red. Here it is cleaned up. Can anyone tell me if there is a good way to clean it up more? Thanks for looking! IMG_1004.JPG

I always clean mine unless it happens to be a key date. Who wants to look at a V when it looks like another old red clad. How did you clean yours?

The only way I leave mine alone as well is if the have decent detail still which is rare from this Louisiana clay. I toothpick and use the oil from my skin and give it a light wipe. Found this one today. Congratulations IMG_1259.JPG IMG_1258.JPG

Congratulations on the V. I never clean any of my coins other than gentle soap and water or a toothpick. Also gently and only after the soil has dried completely. It is just my personal choice.
