The coils for the MX Sport are specifically designed for that detector and won't fit any other machine. There is no adapter available and the idea won't work. As for the batteries, I use AA batteries in my detectors and keep a back up battery pack in my truck. I don't know how long they last in hours detected, but for me they last for weeks. Hope this helps, Tt

Hello migrider56,

I use the RnB 3100 battery in both the Whites V3i and DFX (also in Minelab and Garrett). A very good power source that works as stated. I do find the overall time is about 2-3 hours less than claimed, but I field tested them in a working environment not a lab.

Regards,

Doc

I've had the V3i for almost 3 years now and have been using the RNB lithium battery for about 2 years. It is well worth the money! The V3i can really eat up batteries, especially if you run TX boost on. I hunt almost daily and the NIMH battery was only good for 2-3 hunts.( 5-7 hour hunts) I get about a week out of the RNB battery, less if running TX boost on. You will find that the V3i can be really prone to EMI. Lower sensitivity with TX boost helps get around it.
