Went to see my family for Thanksgiving and brought my detectors for the boys.
We were planning on doing some intense beach hunting.
After about the 3rd hour and maybe 5 targets found between the 3 of us, We decided to check out some old parts of Fort Myers
Went to one of my parents rental houses that was built in the 40s
ended up finding a few wheats, but then the neighbor came out asking what I was doing, then told me I was more than welcome to hunt his year
We were talking as I was swinging around and not 10 minutes of being in the yard
I popped out a 1941 Walker! It was nice because I showed the guy, and was waiting to hear " Can I have that"..lol But he actually told me and my boys "Good Luck, hope you find more.
We ended up hunting it for a few hours with great success
My Totals for that yard was
1941 Walker
1943 Merc
1952 Rosie
No date Standing Lib
It was awesome because my son called me over with a iffy signal on the ATP , So i dug it out and it was a 1917 Merc! He was so happy, it was his first silver coin and he was pumped. then about 10 minutes later he got another signal he wanted help digging
I dug down and saw a black coin pop out, figured it was clad, but then i noticed it was another Merc!
he found 2 Mercs in less than 10 mins. He was totally stoked!!
This yard was Great, found about 15 wheats, 6 Silvers and only like 8 clad coins/Memorials
It was a great time with my boys who NOW love metal detecting
Thanks for looking!
