Very old White's Goldmaster...Fix?

Hi,
I am a novice with metal detectors .
A while back, I bought a White's Goldmaster Model 66T at a yard sale.
It looks as though it may have been a nice detector in its day, but it probably quite old.

Does anyone have experience and knowledge of these?
Is it worth it to look into fixing this one up?
It might even be functioning properly right now, and I just have to practice and learn h0w to use it.

thank you for any advice.

Below is miscellaneous info pertaining to it;
Serial# CI 2370
Date Q/9
It has a "Signal Intensity" meter, radio tuner dial, "range control" dial, mineral - metal setting, etc.

In it's day this detector found stuff. Since you got it at a fair price, play with it to see if it works as the manual says. If not, you can ask Whites if they may repair it or you could spent near $200.00 for a nice Garrett Ace 250. There are many other detectors out here that work as well too. This detector will suit a beginner well till or if you want to move up into a more costly detector and more finds.

Good Luck,
Sandman
