I found this a few months ago in my ex-wife's yard. I posted it in the what's it forum trying to get a little info. I received mixed information on it from serpentin dolphin, Chinese dragon, and later Victorian. I'm going to just say it's late Victorian, Chinese, serpentin dragon with red coral stone. Definitely my most unique find so far and one of my favorites. Any ideas if I should clean it any or just leave it as is and also. Could it have any value?

No value and leave it as it is, you will only damage it. It's beautiful as is and I agree a Victorian pendant of some sort. Here's a similar item I found a few years back:

This is a cool find - I think I'm seeing remnants of the pin catch bits on the reverse side of it , which would seem to indicate brooch .
On first look at the front of of it , the openings at the four corners had me thinking a link piece - like for a link bracelet .

(what is the size of it ? Do you think it's copper ? brass ? )

Looking at the alignment of the catch pin ,, the snake would be in the horizontal position when worn?? Sort of reminds me of the Snake in the Garden of Eden, presenting a forbidden fruit. (Apple)

It's 1 1/4" x 3/4" wide. I did find some colonial style serpentin dolphins that look similar but this has a large fin or wing on it's back which suggest dragon to me.

I think the dragon is copper, the rest is maybe brass but I can see where some of the patina came off and I can see some silver color.
