IMG_20190705_193639265.jpg IMG_20191114_093247022.jpg I make 'steampunk' lamps using a variety of things. In particular I am seeking old ceiling fan housings for use as the base for them. I also use iron pipe and telephone insulators. Would appreciate any input. IMG_20190705_193821520.jpg IMG_20190705_192956749.jpg

Nice looking lamps. You probably won’t find old ceiling fans at thrift stores but you will find heavy old vintage floor lamps at decent prices. You might be able to find based on a few of them that could fit into your design.

Those are very cool. I had quite a few at one time but they are all gone. I looked on eBay and you can find cool looking antique lamp bases at a good price. I find tons of stuff out digging I bring home for bases but never get around to making a lamp. If you ever need insulators let me know:) I like your lamp!! My grandfather made lamps out of water valves and brass torches!!
