Received this cabinet as a tip from one of my customers. It's solid but has peeling paint and plenty of rust. Any tips on restoration besides the obvious of brushing, stripping, sanding? I don't think the glass will come out without breaking and the side panels are beveled glass.
Was supposed to be a winter project, but it took me five months to finally pick it up.
Will be perfect for displaying finds.

Very nice piece! :occasion14:

I wonder if you can protect the glass (cardboard...etc.) and have the metal areas sand or bead blasted and then primed from a local restoration company?

I cautiously gave that a thought, too. I would think cardboard would be shredded, but maybe sheet metal protection would work. I have to check to see if there is anyone in my area.
