Vintage (?) photography equiptment find

Bought this Color drum agitator at GW. Made by Photo Materials Co. Chicago Ill. Model # DA 77. Has not been opened. Has original sticker price of $71.99. Did some research and could not find anything about the agitator. Anyone know how old this could be?
