You've got your work cut out for you. I'd run those logs through my sawmill if they were mine. I've never milled Douglas fir. Gary

Hi Gary, yah the fir longs would mill up into some really fine lumber. Boards, posts or beams. I plan on getting an Alaska chainsaw mill when I retire. Canā€™t buy the wood these fine grain logs have anymore unless special order from a small mill.

A 30 inch bar on a 327 Husqvarna Tamrock. Good power from the Husky. I use Stihl saw a lot as well. Both fine saws.

Pacific Madrone is a great hardwood for firewood cashbandicoot. Generates a lot of heat with minimal ash. Ya, splitting wood will keep you in shape. Iā€™ve a power splitter for the knotty stuff. Always liked getting wood with my sons. Great memories.

I have a Logosol chainsaw mill. I run a Stihl 660 Mag. It works really well. About all I mill is walnut for gunstocks. Gary

Wish you were closer...I've got half a dozen 8" round firs, and at least
two smaller cedar's to drop in the next few weeks.

Wood Mizer makes band saw mills. They have a list of owners that will mill wood for you. Might be one in your area. Gary

Started making the firewood today. Thatā€™s a fine looking sawmill setup ToddsPoint. We use the Stihl 660 mag at work for bigger trees. Its a powerful saw.

Hereā€™s a shot of part of the back yard. Some medium redwoods and a couple spruce. See the tree house on the old growth redwood stump. That tree was a giant in its life.
