Warning,stay up river at the yuba 49 bridge

We spent some time at the s. Yuba river above the 49 bridge. Got visited by the law, we not far enough away from the bridge, still in hands and pans. Law checked me for warrants etc. no fine just warning. Need to hike past the blm sign. Found very little gold. Lots of granite, not a lot of crevice areas.

If you don't mind hiking, a better place is beyond the Edwards crossing bridge upriver. The South Yuba river campground is the jumping off place to go down to the river. There is more bedrock that has cracks, not like the granite around 49 bridge.
