George Washington was inaugurated as the first president of the United States on April 30, 1789. The event took place in New York City which at that time was the nation's capital. To commemorate this anniversary I post the GW button I discovered with my metal detector a couple of weeks ago alongside my other buttons. tres49.jpg

Hi. I grew up upstream from you along the Allegheny River in Western NY. But I live on the eastern tip of Long Island, NY. Check out my posting "Mint Possibly Revolutionary War Soldier's Button" from April 8th when I discovered it. Had no idea what i had found. I l tres9.jpg ike your avatar. I unearthed my Wings alongside a war time Merc in a forest. I use a White's Spectra V3i.
