Wasn't expecting this

This I found in Richmond Hill, Georgia on a narrow patch of sand beach near an eroded hillside on a penninsula. Dug it out of a hole with a rivet. Didn't think much of it until my girlfriends father stated that U Georgia had been out there doing archeological digs on native americans. I thought, ok, get online and see what we can dig up. ;) Found This info that would make me believe it is of the Middle Woodland subperiod, 300 B.C.?A.D. 600. Crazy, right? Here is the photo and some other evidence.

I am going to email them for another opinion or maybe go out there.......

nice find I also have some pottry from the woodland period they made designs with corn cobs on this I have. also found at a dig from a college . but after a rain when tis field was plowed you could pick them up off the ground.

Cool stuff,I used to find stuff similar to that at low tide in Mobile bay,the good ol days.
