Watch/Key fob

I dug this watch or key fob on an old farm site. There would have been a leather strap attached to it. The farm site dates back to the 1930's. The farm is long gone and mother nature has taken back what was once hers. It was about 3-4 inches deep. Gave a good solid tone just below a penny. I did some research and the only thing I could find was on ebay and other antique auction websites. They all said "rare" but not how rare. Does anyone have a roundabout date on this?
