Went out for my first "real" hunt today with a group from work and my wife. We found this awesome wax seal, and three coins (not to mention all the trash). One of the coins is folded, and the other I really don't expect to clean up real well, but one I have high hopes for. I haven't worked on the coins yet much, but we cleaned up the wax seal and stamped it in clay. We're hoping to identify the seal on it, but I haven't been able to find much. I took all the pictures with my macro lens, hoping to get as much detail as possible. IMG_1856.JPG IMG_1857.JPG IMG_1858.JPG IMG_1859.JPG IMG_1860.JPG IMG_1861.JPG IMG_1862.JPG

Just imagine, you're the first one to see that positive imprint in hundreds of years!

Funny, that was my thought when I pressed it.

The seal in the center is spot on. I'm guessing because of the shape that it's in, I'm missing half the date. I haven't even began cleaning up the back of it. As far as diameter, it's just a little smaller than a nickel.
