By the way did you notice the BLACK dot? We get alot of those around here in Mi. I personally paid my kids 50cents ea. per box to put a RED dot in JFK's ear. That lasted about a week before the 3 of them quit on me. It was fun at first for them, but 20 thousand coins was a lot to ask I guess.
Anyway that was over a year ago and about 500 boxes and am glad to report I aint seen 1 yet to come back to me.... have YOU???

In your first post -

Pic #1 - Hard to tell what caused the distortion here but it could be a "struck through" coin, in other words some foreign object (cloth, metal, etc.) got between the die and the coin blank.

Pic #2 - Post-mint damage. Looks like someone used it for a hockey puck!

Pic #3 - Both coins were struck on misaligned dies. If these were true off-centers the reverse side would show the same effect. Pretty common.

Second post -

- The coins with missing digits or letters are from grease-filled dies, again fairly common.

- As far as the supposed off-metal half, what does it weigh? It might be simply a counterfeit.

- I once found a half painted like a New York state quarter, 2001 I think.

This one only has 2 layers of clad Copper on bottom half. like 2/3 of an oreo cookie

This one is really Lead counterfit

off-metal half, what does it weigh?

Don't know will get back to you on the weight seems lighter though.

Here is the front of the copper back and the back of the lead half. pic's 1&2 in post #1

So you're the one with the red dot! I've found them in Iowa and Minnesota.
