Happy Easter everyone!
Saturday, T-Netter Mad_Cladder and I took a trip to hunt with wv1978 at one of his War of North Aggression sites. This is a well known site that has been hit hard for years, but wv1978 has been pulling some bullets and even a few nice old coins.
Cladder was the first (and second) to strike with a couple different varieties of CW bullets. He had very good hunts Friday and Saturday! Congrats Bro!
My first good target was a pistol bullet that based on my research may be a .44 Cal Watervliet Arsenal. (I haven’t got any expert opinions on it yet.) It is .75 inches long and 7/16” (.4375) at its widest point. Weight is 14.7 grams.
My next target was a tiny piece of ?silver? that has a shank, but seems quite small to be a button. I’d love to hear some thoughts on if it really is a button or something else.
We decided to take a break from the woods and hit a house that wv1978 has a standing permission. That is where I found the GB Florin, 2 shillings coin. It has lived a rough life but was able to get a positive ID after posting it yesterday. Thanks to those that helped me ID it!
With about an hour before we had to leave we decided to hit the woods one more time and I was able to score a 3 ringer. This is only my 2nd ever and it isn’t smashed like my first one.
Group photo. Also found the rivet at the CW site. No idea if it’s period.
Thanks again to wv1978 for sharing his site with us. He’s a good dude and a pleasure to hunt with!
