Dear President Trump,

Every week the West Coast independent gold miners and prospectors will reach out to you for assistance to get us back to work in the face of the environmental movements massive push to over regulate us out of existence.

This year’s mining season for the independent gold miners and prospectors is coming upon us. Normally at this time of the year miners would be looking forward to another productive year, prepping equipment for the season, ordering supplies, reservations for RV parks made for those they choose to stay there, scouting trips made, etc. but for most of the west coast miners this is not the case because we cannot exercise our federal mining rights on our federal mining claims. Those that can are wondering will this be my last year.

Each year more and more miners are moving from the wondering will this be the last to the previous year was my last year. All the independent miners in California are forced to just a gold pan only, half of Oregon’s miners face the same issues while the other half wonder if this will be the last year. A great number of Idaho miners have had vast amounts of areas wrongfully denied to them. Washington state miners are under attack right now and face being denied the ability to their federal mining rights on federal mining claims like the rest of the west.

There is still time to stop this. Were are simply asking that you have Administrator Pruitt and Secretary Zinke to work with the mines to correct the wrongs brought upon the Obama administration’s and allow us to get back to work with reasonable regulations.

We are all hard working Americans who once use to augment our incomes, fixed income retirees who need to supplement our needs through other than hand outs, and fulltime miners who are just trying to scratch out an existence in the rural American West were economic opportunities can be scarce.

We look forward to working with you to Make America Great Again and get the miners back to work!
