The bottom has like a bolt screw hole like maybe it was mounted on a desk or table

This is a long shot but does it look like it could be remnants of a broadcast mic from years ago?

What does the other end of it look like? Is it heavy, if you look close at it, you will see the star pattern of a gas burner.

Not sure about the gas burner. It could be. Going to look closer later. Looks homemade. Pretty heavy too

can't really see how long it is in your pictures but it almost looks like a cattle branding iron.
