I went back to my door knock permission from yesterday. I found the 2 tokens a few inches from each other. One rang up right under penny range, the other rang up as a nickel. A little further down, I got an 86 at about 8". BOOM. Welcome me to the 1800s club! 1876s Seated Liberty Quarter. The wheats are 1920d and 1936. I also found some condom tin covers, 1 Merry Widow and 2 MW Price Perfectos.

On top of everything, after the hunt my partner had to hurry off, so I went inside to thank the lady. She wanted to talk so I sat with her for about 30 minutes talking about religion and local history. Toward the end, she asked me if I'd like to detect the 4 acres behind her house that I knew nothing about. Then she proceeded to tell me that I could also search around the house itself which had not been part of the original permission. Anyways, my plans for next weekend are already in place!

I would love some help on the tokens. The token catalog had a Mississippi PR & LT with a big G, but not with a big J. I found another token online that had the number 31526 on it, it looked exactly like my token except it said "Good for 5c Cigar".

Awesome finds and it always pays to take the time to have a friendly chat with the property owners from time to time. Great job! [emoji106]

Congrats on your 1876 SLQ!
Awesome find!
Great job on getting a larger search area!

That's the way to break into the 1800's! Good luck when you get back there

That is one sweet permission. Congrats on getting into the 1800's club and pulling that Seated Quarter. That one is still on my list. My entry into the 1800's club was via a Seated Dime (1875 Jun 2014). Love those tokens. I have a round one with a hole in it with 5 numbers also. Mine is for 5 cents in trade.

Enjoy the moment while it lasts.
