Ok,

a nice bit of reading for dowsers to whet appetites and / or recharge batteries where sceptic bashers have been at work.

http://www.waterdowsing.co.uk/index.htm Some good references there. Of course, its also good info for healthy sceptics and, in fact, its also good material for healthy sceptics as it does allow for arguments such as have been put forward before regarding 'expert knowledge' of terrain, phenomenae, geology etc leading to good intuitive decision-making and that the dowsing instruments mean nothing. It could also be argued that such strong phenomenological knowledge on the part of a master dowser leads to ideometer effect which in effect is the amplification of signals that the dowser was heretofore internally unaware of. With practice, these signals can be understood in their tuned-down form and dowsers can perform deviceless dowsing.

The facts are though, this dowser has aided in the finding of minerals and the commercial recovery of 'potable' water, not just any old water...... That's always key and something that the script-kiddie sceptics miss. I love a good sceptical brain at work; its vital for progress. Can't stand the script-kiddies though......

And, to further de-arm the script-kiddies, yes one of the references given is a Michael Poynder, who has since gone on to write this tome http://books.google.ie/books?id=1TD...esult#v=onepage&q=gold dowsing beadon&f=false Since, mind, not before. I think its fair to say that even open-minded sceptics would deploy a dowser. If they wouldn't, they would not be sceptics, nor open-minded? So Mr Poynder's state of mind when he deployed a dowser is surely a factor, but then, we all tend towards that which we trust / believe in etc when we are in search, don't we? We surely don't deploy that which we have ruled out as being of use to us? So let's get past that sceptical moment and enjoy the material. It will surely be enjoyed by inquisitive sceptics also; should they be at all interested in locating treasures and not mere academic argument.
