Spent about 2 hrs detecting there today. Didn't find anything nearly as exciting as the Large Cent but I did find 9 Wheat Pennies! One was a 1920...my second oldest find ever! I've only been at this detecting thing since May and I am so hooked...I'm loving it! Also found my first 1/2 dollar, it's not old at all, 1973, but it was still VERY cool to dig up. Everything I'm finding in this park is only down about 2 - 4 inches, pretty easy digging. I also got some clad, a junk earring and a strange, ugly pewter looking kind of dog face thing...no clue what it might be. The other wheats were a 1934, 1935, 1937, 1940, 1940 D, two 1941's, and a 1952 D.
Needless to say, I will definitely be hitting this park hard. Anyone that lives close to this area of New Jersey should check it out. I'm not worried about giving away "my spot" as this park is big and has plenty of places to detect. It's Rahway River Park in Rahway New Jersey...

Nice digs! You're doing a great job at pulling some oldies from that park.
