...but ended up taking pics instead. No luck in the permission department so I decided to go visit a park close to home. Took lots of pics and even got to help a fellow out I had just met while there. He walked up while I was shooting and told me about dropping his camera while in it's soft case, but the lens was damaged. All he had left was his telephoto lens so he couldn't do close pics like he wanted. After looking at his camera, I discovered we had the same mounting system and I loaned him mine so he could take some pics. He told me he was an artist and takes pics so he can paint in his studio later instead of setting up an easel on site. He was on a gambling/golf vacation and this was his first trip to the area. I gave him a location to go tomorrow with some great waterfalls closer to his hotel and he gave me his business card. This is his site if anyone would like some work done. The self portrait of him with Santa looks just like him, so he is definitely talented.
