Went to the coin shop today

I went to the coin shop today to get some 2x2 half dollar flips. (for my large coppers) The 25 cent size is too small. I had a little less than five dollars in change coming back to me and here is what the guy gives me. Kind of an interesting way to get 4.50 in change.

Cool the $2 serial numbers are in concession, some people collect things like that, might be worth a couple more bucks

that is a kewl way of getting change. I went to the coin shop yesterday and bought a 1951proof set, a 4 pc collection of half dollars,1963,1946, bicentenial, and a 1996, and a four piece set of nickels, 1905, a buffalo that I can't read the date on, a 45 war nickel and a newer jefferson. All for 21.35. Sheesh, the coins in the mint proof set are worth more than I paid for them $4.50 the half set had a 16.50 sticker on it, and the nickels had a 4.00 sticker. Somehow, that added up to 21.35 with tax, you know I did the dance

One of my friends went to a girlie club in Texas and he said they only give you 2 dollar bills when you ask for change.

If that ever happened to me I would start tipping half as often......unless of course the girls were twice as good, in which case I would maintain status quo.

In the first half of the 20th century, the $2.00 bill was the common price a prostitute charged her "johns." If that place is giving out $2.00 bills it is possibly as a connection to the past or as a sign that the girls are available for "additional entertainment" after hours. See, knowing history can be useful! LOL

Are you saying the heavy set guy with the mustache and glasses at the coin shop was propositioning me? Maybe that's why he winked at me on the way out!

Thats a cool way to give change. Not to many businesses ( legal), give out two dollar bills. Most don't seem to want to take them as their cash drawer wont accommodate them. We wont ask as to what you plan on spending them on.
