Thanks. Yeah, they are telling us after the surgery, she'll be in a cast for 6 to 8 weeks.

Went through similar circumstances with my wife last Sept. She fell off a footstool and fractured her right (dominant) wrist. Fortunately both the ulna and radius were non displaced and she didn't require surgery, but had her cast on for 8 weeks. I was immediately enlisted to be chief cook, bottle washer and house cleaner........not to mention church executive secretary (my wife was a minister, recently retired), bulletin maker and folder, etc. It should be added: I WROTE NO SERMONS DURING THAT TIME!!
Check with your doctor after the surgery and she if finger manipulations while she is casted (when permitted) will help speed the rehab process.............
Good luck to both of you...........

So sorry about your wife's arm and forgive me for thinking what us older ladies always think with any similar accident "at least it wasn't her hip.." I know.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. It could have been alot worse

Had a friend that happened to. Two screws in the elbow, hard cast and 6 weeks later they took the cast off, pulled the screws out and never had a problem again. They may use pins and leave them in because my friend fainted when they pulled the screws out. Don't tell the wife. Best of luck to you. You know of course that if they leave the screws in it will set off a detector if it gets too close and there will for sure be a body cavity search at the airport when boarding...

I def wont tell her that!

All the best to her, I still have vivid memories back to three months on crutches when I broke my foot while cycling. Not fun, try to tell her at least she can walk, that is sure to drive her mad.

Her surgery was done today, not Monday as planned. After reviewing her X-rays, the orthopedic unit at our local hospital thought it best for her to have it done by a trauma specialist in a large hospital in another county. The surgery went well. They had to put in a plate and screws, also had to repair her elbow. Anyways, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it. Bryant
