Hello All, Went detecting with Chris, Ross, Wayne a little later was joined by Bob, Bill and Mike. I am not a big fan of coins. You know old coins and the like. Today while hunting I found something I wasn't really sure about so I put in my pocket instead of the pouch. I saw all the other folks talking to one of the maintenance people so I thought I should find out what was going on. When I got there it was a false alarm but, I took the time to ask Chris what the heck I found. After looking for about 10 seconds he looked at me and asked "have I told you how much I hate you today?" I said no why? What the H is it. He said it is a Panda Gold coin. Then Ross pulled his loop out and said "yep there it is AU .9999." iT IS Dated 1983. As a precaution I gave it an acid test and with 22k acid the lines are still there.

When we went to our cars I ask Ross, what is the big deal about coins especially this one. He said gold rings can be found every month but finding a gold coin is the coup de gras of metal detecting. So on that note HAPPY DANCE , HAPPY DANCE, HAPPY DANCE. HH All GFP (Gold Fever Pete)

Wow, you found a 1 oz gold coin, and you don't really care much for coins, it's gold, and you don't have a picture to share with all us that are slobbering on ourselves?

Congrats.
