Could anyone please tell me what this are?? I found them on Doulphin Island which is next to Mobile bay, Mobile Alabama. I found them about two months after the Hurricanes hit this past year. There are numerious antient ship wrecks in the Mobile area. Could these be Pieces of 8, crude silver castings, balast for a ship, Orr???
Any help would be appreaciated.
Thanks

By its red like color it would be likely it is iron. It may be very old and the clay looking stuff may be sediment from a boiler or another steam engine part. This is a hard call since they have no real definite shape. Rocks is a good guess by the other guy who posted.
