If I may ask, why do you refer to them as culls? Culls are coins too worn to have any numismatic value. The more correct term is clad.

They remind me of marked coins given to managers and asst. managers of apartment buildings who were given these coins to be used in laundry rooms for free washer and dryer use. When the coin box was emptied, these marked coins would be turned to the mgr. and asst. mgr.; a small 'perk' for their employment.

Yeah, but these are simply marks put on by a previous searcher to track their dumps.
