My sons and I have looked all over for information on some of these rocks/boulders we have acquired. We have found very little to what they are and where they came from. Can anyone help? The first two have a silver looking veins running through them but they do not have characteristics of pyrite.

The red/ruby rock looks like glitter spread all over. It has a couple of darker red veins running through.

The third set looks as if it is petrified wood with dark quartz growing in cracks.

i have no idea what the last one is other than possible lava.

Could you provide more views on #3? Like maybe the bottom (flat) surface?

I think 3 and 4 are some sort of manganese ore. I'm not saying it's rhodochrosite but I think it's definitely a manganese ore. Just too pink to be iron oxide.
