Today I made a little road trip to some University towns that I had never hit up in
search of half dollars.

8 Banks - NO halfs
2 Banks - 13.50 in loose total
2 Banks - $50 dollars of searched rolls.

One bank teller asked me "Whats going on here" while laughing. She said I was the THIRD
guy today (1:30pm) asking for half dollars. I said "huh? "

Another offered to order a box, since that is "what they usually do for customers". ??????
Usually do ? wow.

Its becoming an epidemic.... silver going bye-bye fast.

That was an uneventful couple hours there... NADA.

Also my weekly $1000 worth, produced exactly 3 40% halves. Both boxes were 100% full of
casino worn crappy coins, that had no reeding left on any edges. The few silvers I found were
also worn edged casino coins... real bad. Hope those get released fast... I dont like those boxes
at all :)

Theres always next week :) Happy searchin'

(man, I need a silver fix - might have to go buy some nickels and dimes)

I read an article in one of the coin magazines at the book store a few months back and mentioned something about CRH and also mentioned half dollars specifically as having silver still out there to be found. Although I am not sure how big of a readership they have, I am sure it brought up the number of searchers.

I've also had a handful of tellers say that someone had recently bought all the halves they had, and it wasn't me.

I hear the no halves story at every bank I go to. That's why I only order boxes now. It's not worth it to drive around here and ask for halves.
