Welcome to t-net! You definitely have a sharp eye for the GOOD stuff! Have fun & keep your eyes peeled -- though I usually use a detector, I found my best coin by eyeballing an old field -- a 1923 Peace Silver Dollar! The irony there is that my son & I'd detected that field & it's old foundations at least a dozen times before my eyeball find! Andi

Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to buy a detector in a couple weeks when I get my taxes back. Is there anything you would recommend in the $200-$300 range?

I purchased a Garret Ace 350 2 years ago. I believe I paid $275 for it from Windy City Detectors in Chicago. No complaints about it, the DD coil took a little getting used to but once you do ( my opinion) it's easier to pin point with it. Now that's its been a few years and I've kept an interest in detecting its time for an upgrade. I'm thinking E-Trac.

Thanks, I'm gonna take a look at them.
