On a recent trip back from Little Rock, Arkansas my mother and father stopped in a small antique store that sells an array of things from chainsaws to antiques to jewelery to various Indian artifacts. They saw this rock and bought it because it was unusual. The store owner didn't have much info. Any ideas? Could this be an Indian artifact? It has a hollowed out spot on the side and a flat spot on the bottom. Perhaps an ancient whatchamacallit? Or an Indian weather rock lol? Appears to have a ring of another material around the circumference. It stands up perfectly with the flat side down. It looks like a concretion. While not archaeological in nature, they are still collectible to geologists .

That is a highly weathered and eroded Concretion. I hope they didn't pay much for it since you could probably go to any creek in your area and find them.
