Found this at an old farm house site last inhabited in the early 50s. I don't know if the chain goes with it but was found about 3 feet away. I found this about 5 inches down underneath a recent growth cedar tree. the house that was there was old enough it never had indoor plumbing or running water. The piece is about the size of a half dollar and the same thickness. Looks like a Masonic piece to me. Has a nice deep patina. Thanks for the help everyone! Joseph.

Thank you nhbenz, good info! I think we can mark this one as solved. I thought it was interesting that they are sometimes called "the coin of Joseph", and my name is Joseph. Guess I was meant to find it! It made my day for sure, plus it was great to be out md'ing in Kansas in January anyway. Thanks, Joseph
