My 9 year old was in the front yard and dug this up, 4 inches in depth, soil undisturbed since the 70s. Its too stiff for aluminum.

Thinking an old vending machine price tag (?)....on one side says "insert 30 cents" on the the other side it says "insert 35 cents". Pic's below. Thanks for feedback..

I was thinking of a newspaper vending machine with a pull-open front panel. Off-hand, something that originally cost 0.25 and then went to 0.35 could be newspapers or soft drinks. Drink machines are/were more secure, and I can't see one with a removable tag for the price. Good post .. makes me think.
