Looks like a wax seal with a hole for a neck string or necklace...
 

It's a wax seal matrix but no idea on age. Victorian?
 

look up the owners of the land and find out if those intils match one of the owners..great find!!

Looks to be made of bronze... date wise I'd say late Georgian Period c.1800. :thumbsup:

I agree ANTIQUARIAN, love that patina.

Cool find for sure.
 

It is a signet. (a wax seal)

It is colonial.

It is a signature for the authority of the British crown.

Suggesting that it may have belonged to a military officer or a colonial governor.

That would be my guess.

With the CR initials, it may be possible to connect it to a historical figure in the area in which it was found
