Looks to be made of bronze... date wise I'd say late Georgian Period c.1800.

Nice find, but I think liked it better when it still had the verdigris on it.

It is a signet. (a wax seal)

It is colonial.

It is a signature for the authority of the British crown.

Suggesting that it may have belonged to a military officer or a colonial governor.

That would be my guess.

With the CR initials, it may be possible to connect it to a historical figure in the area in which it was found
