In my opinion, the Vibraprobe 580 is the most durable of them all...It is waterproof to 100ft...However, it only vibrates with less depth than the standard pinpointer...Also it is sensitive only at the tip which for me makes it easier to detect the target. I have the Garrett pinpointer which is ok and just received the Makro Pinpointer today...Can't wait to use it!

I've got 2 pro pointers and several other types of pin pointers. The Garretts is a little easier to find targets, but when I bought the new Whites TRX, everything else stayed home. Takes a little to get used to, but the depth is great.

I recommend that you watch some online videos and choose for yourself. I am quite happy with my Garrett Pro Pointer. I have a BH which sits unused and I recently bought a cheap Harbor Freight Model for the 8 yo neighbor kid to use when we hunt.

had to return a pro pointer(bought in '13)4 times in 2 yrs..my friend had to return his twice in less than a yr..the local dealer told me that garrett was having issues w/design,repairs & other.don't know if they've fixed that 1st issue yet on the newer 1's.i've had multiple problems w/the 2 items(350/pro pointer)i bought from them.most folks don't use the pinpointer until AFTER the hole has been dug.usually u can pinpoint it before u dig the hole.it will save u dig time/hole size if it is less than 4" inches deep(depending on size).my 2 cents.
