What is the difference between black and white SEF coils?

They started making the white colored ones when they they came under fire for supposedly not being "V" rated for the spectra series. The new white ones are supposedly better suited for pairing up the the "V"'s.

Thats what the scuttlebutt around the web is, anyhow.

Thats what I was told to. In the old days when detectors ran on coal those who made white coils claimed to was to reduce the heat expansion of the coil in the sun which would give better results. When I asked Eric Foster (King of pulse detector design) about this he said with his coils it was down to the plastic material he had in stock at the time !
