never seen one like it, but it has the appearance of a modern replica or fantasy piece.

Replica of a Judean lepton or prutah (widow’s mite) I’m afraid. Google images search for widow’s mite will give you plenty of examples of genuine and replica examples.

Your coin seems in quite good shape for its apparent age. Not much corrosion.
Was there any mold marks/seam, along the edge...???
Might be a reproduction. like mine, which looks exactly the same,
on both faces.
It is called the "Widow's Mite".
In the Bible, a story of a widow, giving all she had....
I like mine, even display it....

I agree with what everyone else said. It is a Lepton, to me it does look like a replica because of the remarkable condition and it looks like it has a copper finish, because older coins like that tend to be tarnished all around.
