A very nice cluster. Welcome to the forum :)
Yes that is quartz with what appears to be iron staining, the red, and some hematite or magnetite, the black crust in pic 1. It appears that the staining may also be inclusive to one or more of the crystals. The back side, to me anyhow :), has some smaller clusters of druzzy crystals.
I suggest to you that a few rock and mineral guides will help alot in your own identifications. The Audubon society has some really good ones but there are many out there. Good hunting :)

Thank you for your help. My research did lead me to think it was iron inside. Was wondering what the tiny growths were (druzy crystal)
