Found near a stream where a battle in King Philips War was fought. Could this be one of their colonial communication devices???? It was about 6-8" deep...

I think that device is called a F.L.I.P.
It will motivate people to post outlandish opinions while trying to appear intelligent.
F.L.I.P. stands for "Frontal Lobotomy Impulse Provider"

Bah, humbug, you are all wet. That is a intergalactic locating device planted by Space Aliens thousands of years ago. You can tell by the lack of roots that the Planter failed to come back to even water it. I doubt that he even fertilized it. I guess he thought it would grow and produce little locating devices on its own.
Not good farmers at all. That's why we seldom see them anymore. I guess 1947 as about the last ones actually seen.
You might have your sample tested for DNA.:occasion14:

Wait, seriously this is an important find. I've read about this thing...it's a sign from Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
