Bought these with a mixed lot of sterling silver jewelry. They are marked have English sterling marks. They are modern as one has a year 2000 mark. For the life of me, I can't figure out what they are. I think they could be 'nipple cuffs', if such a thing exists.

Any ideas?

They are earlobe rings. When you have those big ear spacers they hang on them. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1468149886.735196.jpg

This is the closest so far but I still haven't found a match. It could actually be used in a number of places depending on the size of the piercing but the closure is pretty unusual being hinged versus a threaded type. This is a flat band type versus a ring type. Also the set up of the double ball is very unusual in the way it would "hang" on the body. I would say maybe a septum ring/band? This is the closest visual I could find but by no means is it a match. https://www.etsy.com/listing/242694266/10mm18ga-10mm-cbrbcr-ball-closure-ring?ref=market

Am I the only one that's more grossed out by the idea that they're really ear lobe stretchers than if they were nipple cuffs?

Nope!

I heard a great saying once regarding the relationship between people with gauges and earning power. I share it with gauged youngsters that come to our business looking for work. "The bigger the gauge, the lower the wage."
