What is this thing? Buddhist?

Picked this up at a yardsale for a buck, it just intrigued me. It is plastic, vintage, and no marks of any kind. Measures about 8.5" tall x 6.5" wide. It spins open and has a little place to put stuff. I may keep the cool little sucker! Any help would be appreciated.

If you shine a light in the back, does it glow through the front? Wondering if it's a "candle holder" of some sort.

I believe it is Buddhist. I agree with a Candle Holder or sacrifice Plate? How big is it?

It's about 8.5 inches tall. I found a link that describes it an incense holder. Light does shine through it, but it would melt by any hear source.
