Puns this the other day while digging on a site with the backhoe. I have no clue what it is. One pic of the whole thing and one close up of a spot that recently broke off. That spot has some red and orange colors to it my first thought was granite. But I'm thinking it's not. Any clue?

You are going to need to give more information then that my friend. You are going to have to do a streak test, hardness test at least.

I'm a gold panner just found this lol if you can tell me what to do ill do it
Get a nail, penny and a piece of glass. As well as a un-glossed piece of porcelain. See if the your finger nail will scratch it. If not turn to the penny, if not turn to the glass if not the nail. Then scratch it against the un-glossed back side of a tile. And look at the colour.

Looks to be a microcrystalline quartz nodule.

if anyone knows me.. I tend to answer the same way... Chalcedony.. to soem degree.. It looks like a hard outer shell with a simi creamy inner shell.. But one thign that can help your images is cleanign the sample then actually get it wet thus allowing the light to reflect from the sones true colors. Thou you've taken the images in direct sunlight.. for close shots.. try a true white light bulb so that it doesn't case a "yellowie" haze over the image or stone.. Your doing fine..

I have cleaned it I'll take a wet pic when I get off work and I'll agree it seems to have an outer shell I want to cut it in half but I don't know how

In my cace I had to wait nearly 4 years till I found someone to cut my Creamy White (outer shell) Dark Grey (inner Shell) Thunder egg.. Search some of my older post here. I belive I actuall traded half of the stone to another user here.. Anyway.. I searched High and low for someone that had a slab saw and found soemone with a heavy duti tile saw.. which can work just as well. make sure its a wet cutter and not a dry cutter.. and if you ahve bad hands Like I do.. best leave the cutting to others.. Hehe. I know of one user that didn't have the talent to get someone to slab cut stones.. so she put the stone in the lawn and drove over it with a lawn mower.. I would advice you doing this.. But it worked.. damaged her blade but cut the stone just enough for me to finish it off with a hammer and chizel.
