I'm new to t-net and I posted this in a different forum but I think this is the right one. I found this about 25 to 30 years ago in a southern Vermont stream can anyone tell me what it is and if it's worth anything? thanks

MMmm could be tourmaline or beryl. That big, though, I'd lean towards peridot. Definitely looks like some good facet grade material in there, whatEVER it is!

I'm guessing beryl,I have some beryl crystals that are a lighter shade of green than that one but close. The tourmaline I have is quite darker than that.So is the peridot that I have. Both are lime skin green.Junks piece looks like the beryl. It just reminds me of beryl more or less.Better hope it isnt aquarium glass :laughing7:That would be a bummer.

Golden_Sluice is on to something; slag glass. I think I can see spherical bubbles in there.
