not sure,I would say pyrite or gold?I know what you want it to be though.

Ha, of course. Im not sure, bc the rock that it seems to be... splashed on? It crumbles. It's a thin layer of metallic that covers a black rock.

I can see a hint of quartz within this stone.. the "gold" color appears more brassy and even sprayed or painted on and then is simply flaking off.. One true way to tell if it is "gold" is to take it to a jewelry or pawn shop where they have the testing equipment to test the gold.
In this case if it is in fact gold one would need a smelting pot to extract the gold from the stone which shouldn't be to hard.
