This are two of several rocks or crystals (not sure what they are), that I found in a rusty can in a old garage. At first I thought they might be some kind of coral now I'm just not sure. One is white, and the other a brown. It's not dirty I thought it was but once I got them home I ran them under water and that seems to be it's natural color. They peeked my interest, and I can't seem to identify them. Anyone have an idea to what they could be?

I would try a little vinegar on it, to see if it bubbles, if it does, it could be calcite crystals, if it does not, I agree with waterfalljay and SD51.

I'll do that, thanks for the suggestion. Does it matter what type of vinegar?
