I was metal detecting today close to Bull Run. Can anybody tell me what time frame these cartridges are from?

The diameter across the headstamp is 12mm or 0.5 inches.

I also added a 3rd pic showing the headstamp just in case that helps.

Two things....is there any headstamp on them and use calipers for your measurements. All I can tell is that they are likely rimfires.

Villagenut is correct. If they are center fire, they are modern. If they are rimfire, they may go back as far as the Civil War. Try to get a set of micrometers on them to get the caliber if you can.

Hey, I feel your excitement, however we can't really help you, without some data.
1st BRUSH your headstamps with brass bristle brush slightly, enough to get lettering and number of the caliber.
Is the primer brass or copper?
Is there an extractor notch at the base of the head....?
Anything will help us....!
Thanks!
