Was going back through my iPod pictures and found a couple of this guy I snapped while staining a porch two summers ago. These were taken in Middle Tennessee. Born and raised there, but never saw one like it before.

They pegged it right. I used to love to play with them when I was a kid. In fact, any animal that didn't stink, sting, or bite me was fair game.

yup click beetle fun to play with but not when in the garden as they are wire-worms in their larval stage

That looks/sounds like more fun to play with than the huge/nasty spider we had in our bush growing up. We didn't play with the spider.

I remember catching those as a kid and the would flip there backs so hard lol also use to catch june bugs and tie thread to em and fly em like a kite
