What makes a horse break into?

This little critter right here! We've got a mare that will be grazing out in the pasture and a horsefly will bite her and she'll buck just like a rodeo horse . I had one bite me the other day and almost started bucking myself .
It is kinda a cool picture though, don't ya think?? My daughter took this yesterday at sunset...

RR--we were down in the creek bottom the other day and the horseflies and deerflies were thick! After getting bitten twice by a horsefly, I came to the house!!! Fall is just around the corner and I'll be glad to see those things go. I'm sure all the animals will, too...

Oh man, I won't hardly run from a wasp, but I will those things. They hurt! That picture makes it look too innocent, but a unique fly picture. There should be blood dripping from it's mouth.

I think until you get bit by one, you don't know how bad it hurts. And the one that bit me did draw blood .
Our poor horses have been attacked by those things lately--even with the fly spray on them.
